Twin panda cubs reunite with their mother

Published Updated

Four-month-old giant panda cubs Rui Bao and Hui Bao have reunited with their mother Ai Bao at Everland theme park in Yongin, Gyeonggi. Everland on Tuesday said that the twin pandas have begun living with Ai Bao since Saturday. They were born prematurely on July 7 at the park. The zookeepers and Ai Bao had been taking turns caring for one twin each. Giant pandas often abandon one cub when they give birth to twins because the mother lacks sufficient energy to care for more than one cub, according to BBC Earth. "The babies are now walking by themselves and show healthy bowel movements," Kang Cheol-won, a zookeeper at Everland, said in Tuesday's statement. "They have been deemed healthy enough to be naturally raised by their mother." [EVERLAND]
